Pooja Shet is a 3rd year medical student at the University of Missouri - Kansas City, School of Medicine. She is in her 5th year of the 6-year combined BA/MD program at UMKC. She grew up in Naperville, Illinois, a suburb just outside Chicago. Her interests within dermatology include understanding the scarring process, skin of color, patient education, and Mohs surgery. She is passionate about ensuring equal access to medical care and improving dermatologic care in underserved populations, especially in communities of color. She volunteers in free clinics for the homeless and uninsured population in Kansas City and is interested in improving dermatologic care in regards to street medicine. Pooja is also passionate about academic medicine and dermatology research. Outside of medicine, she enjoys drawing, pilates, acting, music production, playing guitar, and watching all of the Harry Potter movies in one sitting. She is extremely excited to be a part of the Sk(In Depth) team!
